Rudyard Kipling novelláját "Tumáj az Elefánt"-ot kelti életre ebben az izgalmas kis filmben Sir Alexander Korda.
Több eredeti anyag került a filmre, kicsit összeszőve. A változásokat Kipling (elhunyt 1936-ban) ténylegesen jóváhagyta, a kis mesék tönkretétele nélkül sikerült integrálni.

A helyszin kiválasztásában személyesen nyújtott segitséget a Mysore Maharadzsa, felajánlva saját földjeit. A valóságban a film nem sok stúdióban készült felvételt tartalmaz.

A címszerepet, 13 éves, Sabu Dastagir játsza. Ez volt az első nagyjátékfilmje. Ő fiatal Elephant Boy, aki arról álmodik, vadász lesz, mint az apja, nagyapja és dédapja. (forditsd le jobban!)

(A film népszerüségére jellemző, hogy ausztráliában a mai napig létezik a róla elnevezett szórakozóhely-kávéház hálózat, usában számitógép üzlet, stb. A filmet többször ujraforgatták, az eredetit meg sem közelitő sikerrel.)

Rudyard Kipling's short story "Toomai of the Elephants" comes to life in this exciting little movie from Sir Alexander Korda.
The original material has been embroidered upon, but the changes from Kipling, who had died in 1936, actually give the slight tale more punch without destroying its integrity.
Location shooting, personally granted by the Maharaja of Mysore on his private lands, gives a veracity to the film which no studio back lot could equal.
In the title role, 13 year old, Sabu Dastagir in his film debut plays a young Elephant Boy who dreams of becoming a hunter like his father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
